diy: photo banner.

I haven't done a lot of posts on decor, but through out college I've loved making my home-away-from-home more personal. I thought I'd give you all little peeks into how I've decorated my spaces. I did one on my dorm room my freshman year which you can see here.
However today I wanted to show you how I put together a little photo banner.

Artifact Uprising is a sweet little print shop where you can get prints or books made. Back in October they were giving away free sets of square prints (which is how I was introduced to this company). However now knowing how good these prints are, I'd totally recommend buying them. The paper is nice and thick and all of my photos look great!

So on to my banner!

It's so simple to put together. I used some twine, two push pins, and clips.

I eyeballed how long I wanted my twine to be by tacking it down on one side and stringing it across the wall. I then took it down and tied some knots in it so that my clips wouldn't all slide to the middle.

You probably recognize some of these photos from my Instagram. And let me tell you, the hardest part of this project was choosing which photos made the cut!

Like I said before, it's super easy and affordable. I love displaying some of my favorite places and things in a cute way!

Twine: Amazon
Clips: Similar (I found mine at a craft store for a lot cheaper)
Push pins: Target

Sweater: Ann Taylor (old, similar) | Jeans: Banana Republic | Boots: Unisa (very similar)| Bag: Madewell (same bag, different color) | Sunnies: Ray-ban | Watch: Fossil (similar

I wore this neutral look to church the other day and got so many compliments, I figured I should blog about it. These OTK boots have been a great go-to lately and love how they can make any look more streamlined (this pair is very similar). I paired this look with an old, trusty sweater and black jeans. Also my Madewell tote is a staple piece for me (even though is not featured a lot) and it seriously lives up to its name. If you want a great tote, splurge on a Madewell

16 days until Thanksgiving break!

{Also shout out to my roomie, Brooke, for snapping these pics and dealing with creepy guys in the process}

plaid poncho.

Poncho: Adam Lippes for Target | Jeans: Lucky | Bag: The Limited (similar) | Watch: Fossil | Necklace: Gorjana (use katexoxo2 for a free month of Rocksbox) | Shoes: Antonio Melani | Sunnies: Ray-ban

I've acquired two ponchos now and have a feeling they'll become a new fall/winter staple. I love this particular one though because the colors and plaid print are perfect for transitioning into fall. I saw the model on the website (which you can see here) wore a chambray underneath and thought that would be another great way to style this poncho. I kept the look elongated by wearing heels, but this would still look great with flats or even boots/booties.

I hope you all have a fun and safe Halloween weekend!

green jeans.

Jacket: Loft | Tunic: MarGorgeous Boutique (brand is My Beloved - linked another favorite in widget below) | Jeans: The Limited (love this color!) | Shoes: Antonio Melani  | Watch: Fossil (similar)

For people shorter than 5'9", this "tunic" is actually a dress. However, when I came across this boutique find I knew I could make it work. (Side-note: I've done this in a previous post HERE as well.) I love pairing it with jeans but it also goes great with this pair of hunter green jeans. It's kind of a spring twist on fall. Considering the place I interned over the summer was pretty casual, this would be a great outfit to wear to work. And if you're not a big fan of heels, you can easily swap them out for nude flats!

back in black...and grey.

Dress: Boohoo | Poncho: Ann Taylor Loft | Boots: Unisa | Watch: Fossil (similar

With homecoming kicking off this weekend at the ZOU, I wanted to share a game day outfit I wore last week. While our colors are black and gold, I chose to keep this outfit very neutral. It was perfect for the mild weather too. I recently got these boots and really regret breaking them in on that particular day (haha it was not good), but I know they're going to be a favorite all fall long.

Also I've acquired a couple ponchos so far this year and they're the best. They're perfect for throwing on over an outfit for warmth, but still look great. The other one will be coming to the blog soon.
In the meantime, happy homecoming and go Tigers!

max comfort.

Top: Aeropostale c/o  | Jeans: Aeropostale c/o | Sandals: Target (similar) | Watch: Jord c/o (mine is the Fieldcrest in Maple) | Necklace: Gorjana

These jeggings were named appropriately when they called them "Seriously Stretchy". I named this post/ look max comfort for the pure fact that I've got my stretchy pants on and my oversized tee. Maybe I should've saved this look for Thanksgiving? Ha!
Seriously though, both are marked down at such good prices. I mean, my top is only $8!

On another note, I've yet again been pretending that I haven't been at NYFW. Maybe someday my dream will come true. Until then, here's to another week ahead!

Happy Monday.

swing into fall.

Dress: Old Navy | Shoes: old (similar linked below) | Hat: MarGorgeous Boutique (similar linked below) | Necklace: Gorjana | Watch: Fossil (similar)

What better way to transition into fall than a good floppy hat? I love that this hat is so versatile in transitioning from summer to fall, but it definitely seems more fall-ish to me. Of course I'm wearing another swing dress. Go figure. But I love the softness, length, and flowy-ness about it. Perfect for all the tall ladies out there.

Tee: Aeropostale c/o | Jeans: American Eagle | Shoes: Rocketdog (similar to Converse) | Watch:  Jord c/o (mine is the Fieldcrest in Maple) | Necklace: Gorjana

This NASA top is probably the coolest thing I own. Just kidding. But for reals, the loose fit (I went up a size for that) and the softness make it the perfect tee. Plus it can be style a multitude of ways. Aeropostale has the best collection of throw back tees and I'm probably going to need a couple more to round out my collection.

Also side note - my hair isn't actually green. The awning above me was reflecting on my head and it wasn't noticeable until I was editing these. Ya win some and ya loose some, what can I say? Haha

Happy Saturday!
(Also I have to shout out a big MIZ for my Tigers playing their first game today!)

{thank you Morgan for snapping these pics}

Dress: Aeropostale c/o | Shoes: Rocketdog (similar to Converse) | Watch: Fossil (similar) | Phone case: Zazzle | Headphones: Ankit c/o

Okay, can we talk about how cute these headphones are?! I've never really been a big headphone person until I found these. And let me tell you, it wasn't easy picking out my color/pattern combination. Ankit has so many cute things, that you'll find yourself wanting it all.

You also may be asking yourself, what I'm listening to. Well lately, I've been hooked on this playlist. The first three songs are amazing.

Also, side note - for some reason the page for this dress would not come up for me. So I've linked the search results page for it above and here. Hopefully you can get it to open because it's only $10! If for some reason it doesn't, I've linked another t-shirt dress below that is also affordable.

smile brilliant winner!

Top: Banana Republic | Jeans: The Limited | Shoes: Rocketdog (similar to Converse) | Similar necklaces linked below

These photos were recently taken just for fun while at work. While waiting for some people to show up to a photo-shoot, my fabulous co-worker, Izzy, and I snapped a few pictures. So while this isn't a full outfit post, I still wanted to share it because I thought the photos were so good and it's a typical "Just Kate" look. Also check out this tank, the back is so unique AND it's on sale! (I would have included a picture, but after walking around with camera equipment on my back, it wasn't picture worthy haha)

I also wanted to congratulate Terri H. for being the winner of my Smile Brilliant giveaway!
If you didn't win, but still want to purchase a Teeth Whitening Trays kit, you can use the code justkateblog for 5% off.

Happy Friday!

dotted lace.

Top: Old Navy | Skirt: Banana Republic | Heels: Lauren Conrad (similar) | Sunglasses: Rayban | Necklace: Gorjana

Since the end of my education is near, I’ve been acquiring more looks suitable for the office. I’ve been working some this summer and picked up some pieces along the way.

This dot lace skirt is one of my favorites. And while I chose to make things a little more casual by knotting my shirt for this post, I usually tuck it in for work.

It’s definitely a statement piece that makes work clothes a little more fun and interesting!
