I'm leaving you guys with one more outfit post before I head across the sea. My kitty, Willy, even joined me for this shoot and you can see Rosie peeking through the window in one of the pictures. :)
I paired my ever-so-versatile chambray shirt with this adorable polka dot skater skirt. I finished off the look with some strappy heels and some pearls.
When I return, I'll update you on my trip!
Have a wonderful rest of the week.

insta update

I always like to update my blog with tid bits of my life and what better way than through pictures? I'm much more personal via instagram than my blog so I like incorporating it into posts.
Here is a few shots of my summer so far!
Follow me @kateaustin3

1. One of the best parts of coming home is catching up with friends. Fortunately, I got to meet up with these two beauties the other night!

2. I'm still keeping up with my golf game and my dad makes for a great tournament partner.
(This photo still cracks me up! haha)

3. Emily Gemma from The Sweetest Thing instagrammed herself wearing this top and I had to go get it. Best part? It was on clearance in the children's section of Target for $9.

4. My good friend Karis came to town to visit. I had to show her how good Pineapple Whip is.
It's comparable (or so I think) to Dole Whip for all of you Disneyland goers. Regardless, it is AMAZING.

5. I love a good pool day. Did you see my post about what I keep in my pool bag? If not check it out here

6. This is my golf #ootd. We recently took a trip down to Arkansas to watch the ladies of the LPGA. Such an awesome day!

7. Oh man, don't even get me started on this dress. I'm obsessed. It's so versatile and can be dressed up or down. I even went back and got another one in a different stripe pattern. It's Merona brand, however I can't find a link online!

8. This lovely lady (Jacy of Love, Lenore) is getting married very soon! So happy I was able to be a part of her bridal shower. But I'm so sad I'll be missing her wedding day. She'll be a beautiful bride!

9. Aren't these cacti the cutest? I planted them earlier this summer and they're just so adorable!

Some special news:
I'm heading off to the great big continent of Africa again on Friday. I'm so incredibly blessed with the opportunity to go back. I'm also so excited to see what the Lord has in store for this trip. I'm sure His plans are more magnificent than I can imagine. But until then, I'll try to get an outfit post up for y'all soon and update you about my trip when I return :)

a touch of stripes.

Top: J Crew  Skirt: Pac Sun (similar | Shoes: Rocket Dog

I recently scored this top off of J Crew’s sale and love it’s simplicity. (You know me, all about simplicity!) It’s such a great top to wear with jeans or even a fun skater skirt like this one. I’m also becoming a huge fan of stripes. They’re taking over my closet and I’m okay with that. :)
Happy Friday everyone!

shades of blue.

Dress: Old Navy Shoes: Lauren Conrad  Bag: The Limited (in stores!)   Necklace: F21   Bracelet: Lily and Laura

I have been loving this blue dress from Old Navy that I picked up in the spring. It's the perfect dress to dress up or down. I look for versatile pieces like this one to expand my wardrobe. For this look, I paired it with a pair of strappy heels and a statement necklace. It's such a great go-to dress that I love styling!

What I Wore: 4th of July

Top: Soprano (old)  | Shorts: Forever 21 (similar | Shoes: Target

I hope everyone had a wonderful 4th of July weekend! I spent mine with family relaxing and shooting off fireworks. I kept my look super comfy with these distressed shorts and flowy top.

Have a great week!

 Top: Aeropostale c/o  | Shorts: Aeropostale c/o  | Necklace: Aeropostale c/o  | Shoes: Target
Bracelet: Lily and Laura

How fun are these shorts?! I'm so in love. They're the perfect punch of color and pattern. I let them steal the show by pairing them with a plain white tank and white sandals. To top everything off, I kept my accessories simple with this Lily and Laura bracelet and feather necklace. Such a great look for summer if you ask me!

Happy 4th!
