she reads truth.

Starting the new year I needed a fresh start with my walk with God. I didn't fully invest myself in the time I spent with Him. So I looked for a new plan to start on. I came across She Reads Truth. It's daily devotionals by women for women. Each month has a new series, so I'm going to enjoy looking forward to starting a new series each month.

Sweater: Aeropostale c/o (on sale right now!)  | Necklace: F21 (similar)

One of my best friends is going through the study with me, so having that accountability is such a blessing.
I encourage anyone to join in on the study! Grab a girlfriend and read some truth!

ooh la la.

Sweater: Lauren Conrad (love this one | Jeans: Lucky Brand (similar | Booties: Target  | Watch: Guess (similar)

I got this sweater from my aunt for Christmas and I love it. Graphic sweaters/sweatshirts are so in right now. I love this one though because it's not an overbearing graphic. It's simple and sweet. And let's face it, you can't go wrong with anything Lauren Conrad. Am I right?
Also, I have to rave about these jeans. They're Lucky Brand's t-shirt jean and the level of comfort is mind blowing. When you can get me out of my leggings, I'm wearing these. If you ever get the chance, wander into a Lucky Brand store and just touch them.
You'll be sold.

Stay warm!

happy birthday!

So this post is way over due because I had some stellar ideas for my birthday post, but they fell through. Busy schedules and weather got in the way.
However, I could not get by with out doing some sort of post to review on the first year of my blogging career.
Let me just say, this has been an absolutely amazing experience. If you had told me I'd be featured on Lauren Conrad or that Aeropostale would ask me to promote their awesome new products, I would've thought you were joking a year ago. I love everything about blogging and how rewarding it can be.
Creating posts every few days isn't easy and I give major props to those who get to do this for a living.
Because I don't about the rest of you but I've done sweaty outfit changes in the back seat of my car and I've faked a smile while freezing my butt off in the cold. I'll be the first to tell you that blogging is a huge commitment. BUT I'm going to be all cliché and say that I'd do it over and over again.
And I will.
It's taken lots of planning and has forced me to expand my style. Before my blog, I wouldn't have considered myself super fashionable by any means, but I like to think I've grown.
My blog is about creating outfits that can be worn everyday by everyone. I don't have the budget of a gazillionaire and I like to constantly find ways to wear different pieces in my wardrobe.
I hope to continue to achieve that goal as I continue blogging.
As for thank yous - My number one thank you goes to Jacy of Lenore Lamé. Thank you for being my biggest encouragement and helping me get tons and tons of outfit pictures. My blog probably wouldn't be alive if it weren't for you!
Also, thank you to anyone who has taken pictures for my blog. I truly appreciate it. You all make it happen. (Specifically my mom. You've been a huge encouragement and help.)

Okay, so now that I've basically written my heart out I'll end by saying, thank YOU all for reading! I'm blessed that what I put my heart into is actually being read. I love doing this and I plan on blogging for as long as I can!

(Based on the level of cheesiness I just reached, you'd think I had just won an Oscar or something...)
